Bel STi Driver

Pros: Much like the Escort 9500i being a juiced-up Escort 8500 X50, the STi Driver is basically an upgraded Bel Pro RX-65, which has multiple test wins in multiple car magazines just like the Escort 8500 X50. No surprise, really, since Escort and Bel in recent years have been brought under the same corporate umbrella, much like Audi and Lamborghini. A fair amount of the circuitry between the Escort 8500 X50 and Bel Pro RX-65 is shared. A unique dual antenna design makes the STi Driver the only unit on the market confirmed to be invisible to the Spectre radar-detector detector, plus enhancing basic reception chores as well. An absolute perfect choice if you drive a commercial vehicle subject to D.O.T regulations prohibiting detector use. Handles the new POP radar and also has the really useful multiple threat/bogey counter. Also has the selectable band defeat feature. Picks up Safety Warning System stuff if you can ever find any. Upgradeable software feature helps preserve your investment.
Cons: No GPS capability, but if you drive in areas where stopwatch timing is rare, not a big downside.
Bottom Line: A test-winning Bel Pro RX-65 with added capabilities for the driver who needs total invisibility from both the VG-2 Interceptor and the Spectre radar-detector detector.
